About

I was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and moved to Maui in 2005. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a BS in Elementary Education. Since on Maui I have been working with children from early childhood up through high school in a variety of ways at several different schools as: teacher, substitute, and coach. I also represent local Maui born artist Matt Holton. We run Holton Gallery out of our home on Maui in Hawai'i. I love living here! After 10 years in the mountain desert of Flagstaff, Arizona, Maui is now the spot for me. Maui is rich with culture, and warm beyond the constant sunshine.

I am excited to have the new position since April of this year as property manager, caretaker, and assistant landscaper of a property on the north shore of Paia that has been on the market since January of 2014.

I am also a substitute for the Hawaii Department of Education (D.O.E.) and Kamehameha Elementary School, and will write about my experiences; however please keep in mind my opinions are my own, and do not reflect the mission of any of the institutions I am employed by.

How did this website start?

On December 11th, 2009, I was in a bicycle accident. I broke my jaw, lost 5 teeth, and damaged my face. I have no memory of the accident, but I do remember those who were there for me, and continue to be a positive part of my life. This blog started as a way for me and Matt to communicate what was going on with my recovery day to day with family and friends. It has now turned into a way not only for me to communicate what I am up to, but also a way for me to connect with parents, and their children for their tutoring, and child care needs. A nice combination of both my personal and professional pursuits.
