I have been on break from Waldorf this week, and filling in at Fun, 2, 3 Preschool. I love, love, love, Fun, 2, 3!
Since I have had the afternoons off I have been able to finally go to support Matt, who coaches Seabury Hall distance track, at a track meet (photo above). This weekend was the 58th annual Satoki Yamamoto Invitational. Take a look at the article in the Maui News by clicking here. Staring Friday night I was treated to watching long jump, high jump, and my favorite hurdling events, plus many others. Saturday was the final, and the girls team from Seabury won! The girls on the team are amazing! The boys were super talented as well. They all just ran there hearts out. I liked watching the athleticism, socializing with the athletes, parents, and coaches, and playing coach with Matt.
Saturday morning Matt ran, and I biked the Valley to the Sea half marathon. Matt came in third, and I had a great time snapping photos, and biking a part of Maui I have not previously ridden around. This enthusiastic runner let me snap a photo of him at the start with Matt's sweet t-shirt design. For more on this race please visit our site: mauirunner.com.
I am looking forward to getting back to school at Waldorf on Wednesday, where I will be assisting Matt in teaching a baking class for the middle school electives, in addition to my regular after school care position. We have three days with the class, and Matt has decided we will bake muffins, cookies, and bread. My work at Waldorf has become increasingly rich with varying experiences. I am so very fortunate to LOVE my work with children.
