What a date! What does it mean?
All I know is that it will be awhile until we will have a date like this again. Next year in November, and the following year in December, but then it won't be again until the year 3001.
Is that right? That just blew my mind.

Today I was re-introduced to the musings of songwriter Spike Jones. If you have never heard of this artist, or have and haven't heard him in awhile, you have got to check this out:

I love this sort of silly stuff when I'm in the right mood. Thanks mama for reminding me to be sure and laugh! As I continue to deal with my accident, emotionally and physically I sometimes feel down. I know this is natural, and I am not the only one; and laughing certainly makes me feel good.
Have a great rest of your Sunday, and may the week be one filled with more than a few laughs!

P.S. Do we need to come up with a party plan for 11.11.11 or 12.12.12 or what?

Fall is Here

I love the change of seasons. It has been raining over the past few days, and the sunsets have been moving towards the tip of Lanai on the horizon. My exercise routine of pilates, running, and cycling came to a halt about a month ago due to plantar faciitius. This condition is common, and treatable, but as a result of the injury to both of my feet, it is hard for me to be on my feet for more than three hours at a time. My condition is improving, but is at least a month out from complete recovery. It has only interfered in my work, in that I can't run around with the children and engage in active games. We have been playing tons on Candy Land though! If you have not played that board game in awhile, or ever, you have got to check it out. It's really fun.
This injury has been a challenge, and I have not found the same rosy outlook I had 10 months ago when I fell off the bike. It is hard waiting for this recovery, although the progress I have made in terms of soreness, swelling, and general pain walking has subsided by over half. I have added swimming and continue to do light pilates to help in the rehabilitation process.
How can I be down with a kitty like this?
Life is good in Kula. We just had a friend visit, and the chickens are giving us eggs galore!
Now to those pretzels we just made; please check out our recipe blog:
