Maxillo Mandibular Fixater= Procedure to remove hardware from the jaw. This is not only a literal mouth full, but we had to call Galpin just to make sure we had it right when registering at the hospital.
Yep, that's the name of the surgery set for Wednesday, January 20th. I will be finding out what time Tuesday night, although Galpin's office said I am number one Wednesday (pays to be operated on by the Chief Surgeon).
Insurance is pending for 45 days, since my application on December 14. This is due to furloughs, lay off's, and heavier case loads. I'm not terribly worried about this, but I do feel like I am a minor character in Hitchhikers Guide to the Gallexy, waiting in one of those offices, with lines, and much paperwork. So what can I do but patiently wait.
Meanwhile next week will be the marathon of doctor appointments thus far. First up is the surgery Wednesday, which by the way only take 15-20 minutes, but I should
expect to be at the hospital for up to six hours. Then Thursday I meet with Dr. Clark, for my first orthodontist appointment. Friday I am getting a physical to see if I qualify for temporary disability. Yikes!
So we passed this sign like four times today, is this a sign of the times or what?! Never saw a Church and a School for sale. This guy was thinkin' he was famous for a little bit!
Saved the best for last. Before Dr. Galpin left the room, he said, "We'll be having you chewin' on steak in no time!"
